Changes in New York Fashion Week schedule
In our continued effort to work toward solutions that are beneficial for all parties involved with showing fashion and doing business associated with the collections,we would like to update you on the resolution that has been reached concerning Fashion Week dates. As reported, after numerous discussions with our counterparts in London, Milan and Paris, the CFDA was successful in negotiating an extra week for American designers to prepare their collections each season. This upcoming season, New York Fashion Week will officially begin on Friday, February 13 (and last one week--until February 20). The CFDA has confirmed these dates with IMG and Fashion Calendar. Also confirmed, but not officially released until now. In September 2009, New York Fashion Week will still begin one week later, but it will officially begin one day earlier, on Thursday, September 10 (and last one week--until Thursday, September 17) to give London an additional day. Subsequently, each season thereafter will begin on the second Thursday of February and September.
